Doubt related to Domain Controller

Former Member

I have Doubts regarding Domin Controller in Transports.

1. When we Distribute configuration to all systems

All changes to the configuration are distributed to all systems in the local domain and

activated. The controllers in other domains are informed of the changes to the

configuration.

What is need of informing other doamin about the changes done in One domin Controller.

2. When we Distribute configuration to other domains

This includes the changes from other domains.

The status bar indicates the SAP System in which the configuration is being adjusted

What does this adjustment means and in what context?

Thanks!!

If you have configured domain link to other domains then it will be distributed to other domain as well. If you don't want to distribute to other domain then why you have created domain link in your different domains ?

Adjust means that your new system is informed about domain configuration and about other domains.

Thanks

Hi Swati,

You can use Domain for one landscape ( For eg. ECC & SCM ). you can use with different Transport domain under the dir TRANS.

But in One Landscape u should use One Domain Controller.

Please read the link as

Thanks for reply..

and understood the queryu as well.

Also i have one more query .

1. While checking Transports Groups in TMS.

We go to Configuration--> check transport Group as per process

what it does in backgroud is --

The check involves creating test files for all SAP Systems in the transport domain. A check is

then made on all systems to see which of these test files are readable. The result is compared

with the configuration of the transport domain.

If the check for the transport groups shows that the systems are incorrectly assigned

to the groups, you must adapt the TMS configuration

Now my question is ..

There is chances to have such sap system in our landscape which belongs to 2 transport group.

sharing different Transport Directory.

so in this case it will also throw error " incorrectly assigned "??

2. Do we have multiple transport domains in lone andscape??

Thanks!!

Hi,

Yes, you can use multiple domains in one landscape. But if you want different domain should know to other then you can create domain link between different domain.

Why you want a system to belong to 2 different domains ?

Thanks
