DB compression+Kernel upgrade

Dear All,

recently we did oracle upgrade from 10.2.0.4 to11g.

everything was working fine.

1.Yesterday we did db compression on tables like EKBE and MSEG.

2. Then we have upgraded the latest kernel from 254 to 291.

3 .We have not started db statistics.

4. started SAP

5. Started DB statistics

..

MSEG statistics running more hours than expected....like not finished after 24hours.

Now Performance drastically effected.No tcode executing properly.

Please guide whether we did anything wrong.

Have we missed planning as i mentioned above.

Please suggest

Please cross check SAP note 1289494 that whether you did as per this SAP recommendation.
