SNOTE - Note Assistant version and its upgrade

Hi SAP friends,

Where can I see the version of my Note Assistant (ta snote)? And could you please also post some hints (notes) how to upgrade it? I was trying to find it at SAP marketplace, but with no success.

Hi,

Step: 1

The "SNOTE" transaction has its limitations, such as it cannot implement all notes. This means that in some cases, notes will require manual implementation provided as text in the note instructions.

During an upgrade process SAP assists its customers with all notes that they've implanted through transaction "SNOTE". Notes that were implemented prior to the release of SNOTE will not be adjusted automatically, and the customer will be asked by SPAU and SPDD to adjust notes as if they were regular customer modifications.

The above applies also for the manually implemented section of notes which were implemented using "SNOTE". Whenever manually adjusting a note (or a regular modification) the customer is faced with a decision: either re-implement the modification or rest back to the standard code.

Since notes are similar to modifications in the sense that they are changes in the SAP namespace. They are part of the first steps of the SPAU & SPDD.

...yeah, well, thanks. I know about its... features.

However in some note I read "If you use the enhanced Note Assistant 2.0 or higher, the report is automatically created by SNOTE."

Since I have no possibility to create the report manualy, I have to rely on the note assistant. And because the report was not created, I suppose my note assistant is lower than 2.0.

Hi habu,

First u have to Create the report RKSE16N_EDIT in the development class WUSL.

Note the following: If you use the enhanced Note Assistant 2.0 or higher, the report is automatically created by SNOTE.

Then you can Create the domain SE16N_SAP_EDIT of Description: SE16N Activation SAP_EDITData Type: CHARNo. Characters: 1Value RangeFix.Val. Short Descript.(blank) Not activeX ActiveActivate the domain
