Configuration Phase Definition for Contract Document

Hi,

We have a requirement, the Configuration Phase Definition for some Contract Document types should be optional.

When I try to make the field ' CONFIG_PHASE_DEFN ' in class 2001 ( Contract Document Type ) as not required in Page Customization. The config does not work.

What is the issue here ?

Hi Pankaj,

AFAIK it is mandatory for a Contract Document type to have a phase definition. You cannot make that an optional field.

I am assuming that your requirement is to have a Contract Document type that doesnt have to transition over phases. In this scenario the best solution would be to write a script that pushes the document to a particular phase, say Executed, on its first save. You can also stop it from transitioning back to another phase by writing a PrePhaseChange script.
