CJ9L - Cost Forecast - Material Planning distribution

Hi, we are using the Mat.Planning value on the assignments tab of an Internal Activity.

When running the cost forecast report the value is tied to the scheduled end date of the activity.

Through trial and error we entered a work center and activity type on the internal tab.

We left all other fields blank including planned work and the work center distribution key.

The result; Cost forecast report evenly distributed the costs for the length of the activity.

My question is, what determines the even distribution of the material planning value?

We tried using the work center distribution key, but it has no influence.

Please advise. Thank you.

Hi,

Generally the system uses the distribution key maintained in the internal processing activities.If a distribution key is not maintained in the activity , the system uses the key from the work center (capacity view). If a distribution key is not maintained in the work center also, the costs are distributed evenly over the earliest dates in the activity.

Not sure, but I think the requirement date, Align finish date / Align start date comp. in the details screen of material component may play a role in chaning the cost forecast.
