Dear Experts

I am installing SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.0 EHP1 WITH ORACLE 10G ON REDHAT LINIUX 5.4 64BIT.Now on step 28 of 48 which is start instance i am getting an error which says Instance SOL/DVEBMGSOO reached state SHUTDOWN after having state STARTING.After searching the sdn and web for past few days i am still not able to find a solution to my problem.I have checked various things as mentioned in other posts of other users,i have started and stopped the instance,db,services manually and then again started SAP Inst still the same error i have checked the logs in work directory dev_w0,dev_disp,dev_rd nothing is there in these logs no information i am pasting sapinst logs,sapinst_dev log and instance start logs.I am not sure i can paste all the logs cause last time i tried i exceeded the limit of words,Please help thanks in advance.

I tried a fresh installation and everything worked fine.However there was a minute problem in the java kernel saposcol was missing so i copied the saposcol from the abap kernel into the java kernel as mentioned in the work directory log of java instance and changed the permission of the saposcol and every thing worked fine.

Thanks for the suggestion Markus

However as i have already mentioned in my first post nothing is there in these logs the one you have mentioned.

That is why i am my self confused what's happening in the system.Is there any other place where i can look for logs.

Yes i have started and stopped the instance manually and then ran SAP Inst stil no change as stated in the beginning of my message.However i will go for a fresh installation today starting everything from the beginning and then will post if i get the same message again or any other message.

I would - instead of starting over - try to find out the error.

Check

dev_disp

dev_w0

dev_server0

in the instance work directory.

Hi,

As such I don't find something useful in the logs. Have you tried to stop and start the system manually ? If not, then try it manually and see if it works. Then check logs in work directory and also paste here.
