Handling Resource settings not working

Hello All,

We have APO 7.0. In SNP we are trying to set up Handling Resource. We did following setting. The Handling resource is not respected by the HEU or CTM. Could you please advise us.

Scenario:

Source>Tlane>Target. Number of products on T Lane. Require to attach a Constraining Handling resource on Source location. If demand falling on source is 20, and source has handling resource capacity of 10, then only 10 should be supplied.

Settings:

(1) Single/Multi kind of Handling Resource

(2) Defined Resource Capacity in qty or hr

(3) Resource defined for Source Loc in Tab: Resources --> Handling Resource --> Resource Outbound

(4) For Loc Product defined Resource consumption details in Tab: GR/GI --> GI Handling Cap. Cons.

Hello,

First, SNP heuristic is an infinite planning, which means it does not consider any capacity overload during planning.

Capacity balancing could be done in the follow-up step: capacity leveling.

Second, if you check the setting (4)'s F1 help, you can see that it is only used in heuristic or optimizer.

Last, in order to make CTM to consider handling resource, please:

1)Define GI processing time in product master.

2)Set correctly the planning strategy in CTM profile -> Strategies -> Special Strategies -> Capacity Planning.

What is the value you maintained in Tab: GR/GI --> GI Handling Cap. Cons? It should be 10.

One more thing, how are you checking that HEU or CTM not considered this one?

Please find the answers for Mani:

M(1) The value maintained in Tab: GR/GI --> GI Handling Cap. Cons = 1. It is 1 unit conumed per 1 Goods Issue.

M(2) I am checking Capacity Viewfor the resource. In which, resource capacity is available but without any resource loading. In case of HEU, I was expecting an overload for the resource. And, in case of CTM, I am expecting that Location should supply 10 and short demand 10. Because total demand is 20 but handling capacity is 10 only.

Please find the answers for Ada:

A(1) GI processing time is maintained

A(2) CTM profile is maintained. It is working fine except loading on this resource.

Hello,

Have you checked the orders created by heuristic or CTM?

Do the orders have correct order numbers instead of 'APO-X' ?

Please check those orders in /sapapo/rrp3, whether they're correctly displayed there.

If yes, please double click on the orders to check the details. Is there goods issue activity scheduled for the order?

And what is the handling resource for the GI?
