Hi,
Seems to be a problem with kernel if the wp doesnt get killed even after trying to kill from OS level.
Please paste the wp trace for this.

Dear Satu,
You should restart off the instance is only the solution.
And also a kill using dpmon is basically the same as via SM50 ( WP Overview )
Try it

Hi,
Step:1
Usually when you're not able to cancel the job from within SAP is because they are hanging at OS level.
What OS are you on?... just look for the PID of the process and kill it from the OS.
Then try to restart the process
Step :2
you can go to Transaction SM12 where it must be some
> table locks are there for the program.First delete
> those table locks and try.If it also does not work
> you may be have to restart the SAP by closing and
> opening DB.
> Try and revert back.
if u want more details please find below notes

Dear Satu,
After killing a Dialog workprocess but restarts this could be due to several issue.
Please check the trace of the work process, identify what is the issue.
you can kill the Dialog workproces from below steps.
1)Note down the PID of the work process
2) from SM66 kill if you still see the process kill again from os level with -9 option.
3) if you still see the PID then you have to fine out the pid for DB holding the corresponding work process and kill .
I feel the issue could be due to Kernel, please update the kernel to latest version, to fix the ongoing issue.
Hope this helps
Regards
venkata

This is completely normal. it will restart after being.
any reason why you want the WP to remain in killed status and never restart?... that sounds like nonsense... even if this is possible.. check options of SM50.
