26. FTP Connection Problems
o Q: I have configured a File Adapter channel to connect to an FTP
server, but receive one of the following error messages in the adapter monitor:
- Error connecting to ftp server '<hostname>': SocketException:
Connection reset
o A: This problem is either caused by incorrect firewall / packet
filter settings or an incorrect configuration of the FTP server.
Also make sure that you have correctly specified the host name /
IP address and port of the FTP server.
Changing the connection type from 'active' to 'passive' (or vice
versa) might additionally help to work around the incorrect
firewall configuration.

Sarah

Hi All ,
The IP address and login credentials were correct . I am able to ping the FTP server from my PI box
I also have changed the connnection from passive to active and changed the timeout seconds also ...but as soon as the file is coming at FTP the same error is repeating . The channel was polling the files properly by 10 AM today .
Please help

Login credentials user/password is invalid. May be your password changed and trying with old password. Sometimes it will lock the user after frequent attempts. I'm not thinking firewall connection issue. Please check that too.

Try pinging your FTP sertver IP from your PI server to check the connectivity. If connectvity is fine then cross check if your USER and PASSWORD given in Your communication channel if correct.
