I am looking for help to configure and start a Recovery with initialization.
I have gone through the steps for Recovery with initialization (restore from a backup medium) but it fails.
The error text:
-24988, ERR_SQL:
-3068, Missmatch of parameter configuration between backup and instance
6,Error in backup task occured, Errorcode 5224 "wrong_configuration"
Also i've been throug the link https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/x/GkM and SAP Note 01377148.
We are using the database as sap content Server.

I am not sure why are you deleting the database.
You can perform recovery without deleting the database.
Also i assume you are using latest dbmgui . Previous version of dbmgui has some bugs in it and recovery use to fail sometime.
Cheers !

There are a few documented problems with -9407 and they are fixed in newer versions of the database.
Is there any reason why you use such an old build?

we did an upgrade of the database software, but it doesn't work.

Try to activate the database using DBMGUI or by executing
dbmcli -u control,<controlpassword> -d <SID> db_activate <dbmuser>,<dbmpassword>
If that works put the database back to admin mode and try to recover again.

Looks like, the database parameters from the data backup/source are not compatible with your target database.
Any changes on parameters: CACHE_SIZE/CacheMemorySize (mostly less value in target DB)
Make sure you keep the same value as in Backup. I guess, the DBMGUI tool ask the confirmation on parameter set before intilaizing and restore.
You may also check knldiag.

Hi guys,
Thx for the ideas, Here are the results.
Try to activate the database using DBMGUI or by executing
dbmcli -u control,<controlpassword> -d <SID> db_activate <dbmuser>,<dbmpassword>
This command works: C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\sapcon>dbmcli -u dbm,dbm -d SDB db_activate superdba,admin
OK
But the recovery fails: Here the LOGS

Hi
here the next idea:
"Looks like, the database parameters from the data backup/source are not compatible with your target database"
Yes, it seems so and
" I guess, the DBMGUI tool ask the confirmation on parameter set before intilaizing and restore."
First I drop the old instance SDB
Second I create a new database SDB and I take the parameters from backup medium
Third I got the parameters as dialog, but I only confirm it. ->So, I will study them.
Fourth Database is created and ADMIN state is on
Fifth I start recovery with initialisation
In the parameter dialog first i can read an value. Second I can read a new value.
Do I have discard the new value ?
Greetings
Daniel

Hello Daniel,
1. If you are SAP customer => please create the SAP message and get SAP support.
2. Please update with additional details-summary:
What is the version of the source database?
Was the databackup created successfuly?
What is the current version of the target database?
If you are using DBMGUI => what is the DBMGUI version?
Was backup_restore_check of the databackup unsuccessful?
Regards, Natalia Khlopina
Hi Natalia,
Here is my update for you.
1. If you are SAP customer => please create the SAP message and get SAP support.
This SAP System YPC and SAP Content Server are no longer in a productive mode. The company has been sold. So it is not longer possible to create a new OSS Support message.
But the SAP System YPC is still online in order to lookup old technical drafts.
2. Please update with additional details-summary:
What is the version of the source database?
2011-08-10 09:55:17 4E4239640001 0006 TAP KERNEL VERSION.... Kernel 7.6.00 Build 018-123-119-055
Was the databackup created successfuly?
Yes it is.
What is the current version of the target database?
MSG: update from "7.6.0.18" to "7.6.06.20" allowed
If you are using DBMGUI => what is the DBMGUI version?
7.6.00.19
Was backup_restore_check of the databackup unsuccessful?
I did an check with dbmgui - Check -> Backupmedium
I got a popup message , which I don't understand.
You can see it here.
[Popup Message|https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=7D4AC1FA6D19EFEE&id=7D4AC1FA6D19EFEE%21472#cid=7D4AC1FA6D19EFEE&id=7D4AC1FA6D19EFEE%21473]
Just for information :
If it helps, I can show pictures online.
You can visit the DB Crash by using the software Teamwear.
Regards, Daniel Vosberg
Hi Natalia,
Was backup_restore_check of the databackup unsuccessful?
I see the Popup message
[Ceck database backupfile|https://skydrive.live.com/#!/?cid=7d4ac1fa6d19efee&sc=documents&uc=1&id=7D4AC1FA6D19EFEE%21472!cid=7D4AC1FA6D19EFEE&id=7D4AC1FA6D19EFEE%21476&sc=documents]
so I think the databackup file 2543 is OK.
Greetings
Daniel
Which mode you are doing recovery initialization and the name of backup medium is complete data or what? can you check?
