empty fields populated with a symbol in idoc

HI,

Am empty tag in the xml has populated an field with # symbol in idoc. The payload was perfect in PI while going out.

I tired by changing the RFC destination of target system to Unicode for some message types its not populating # symbol for empty fields and for some msg types its populating # symbol.. Looking completely strange..

Any suggestions please?

I think the field is not empty, it just appears empty.

Check with a hex editor, if there is any control character in the fields.

Yes theres around 7-8 chars of whitespace or empty space .. Is this effecting the field?

empty space (hex 20) are allowed, but other characters (< hex 20) should not be part of that field.
