SAP source system creation

Hi,

I understand that logical system should be created and assigned to respective client in every system.

But, when we create a source system in BW system, do we need to create a source system(logical system) in BW system also to whom you are trying to connect and assign it to the client in BW.

In below links prerequistes before creating source system in BW, have been explained :

My confusion errupted because of the 1st link, where they have asked to create a source system(logical system) in BW system and then assign it to client.

Kindly clarify?

Logical system creation for a client is nothing but identifying that particular client in whole of the technical identity.

For example :If you have a System PRD which runs several clients and if other system like PRC wants to connect to a particular client on PRD the logical system identifies it.

Its like PRD may be having client 100,200 and 300 and PRC's client 100 wants to connect to PRD then each client on PRD should have individual identity like PRDCLNT100, PRDCLNT200 and PRDCLNT300. Then PRCCLNT100 will connect to it.

Its a logical identification of a particular client.

I hope you got the concept of logical system now.

In BI you need to create logical system for the client which you will use for data process as well on source also you need to have logical system for the client from which you are extracting the data. So that each of these logical systems identifies each other.
