Hello,

I am trying to import a request in my PRD SAP. It makes all changes in the environment but the screen of importing is locked and doesnt close.

At the bottom of the screen appears the following message "ADD TO BUFFER FINISHED WITH RETURNCODE 0".

Has anyone experienced this situation?

Hello,

I saw the file SLOG e appears the following messages:

WARNING: System BSP. Warning. 20110809152119 :

WARNING: Background job not running properly. Function: R Jobcount: 18044800 Status: Y.

Please check the system. Use transactions SM21, SM37, SM50.

When I saw in the operation system, I had various process cmd.exe and tp.exe. I thought this could be this problem, but even deleting this process, the error continued.

If I make a shutdown in the central instance.. solve my problem?

Olá Ismael,

restarting the instance might resolve the issue, but you need to ensure a couple of more steps are followed in order to get ride of this issue.

---> Check for a transport reqeust not working properly:

Please clear those transport requests by doing the following:

STMS --> Overview --> Imports --> double click on click the 'Delete old entries' (Shift+F1) icon

About the background job RDDIMPDP:

The background job RDDIMPDP is used for the communication between the transport tools (TP and R3trans) and must be scheduled in all the clients (included client 000) by user DDIC. Therefore, in order to schedule job RDDIMPDP properly in all the

clients you should do the following:

1. Logon into client 000 with user DDIC

2. Go to transaction SE38 and run report RDDNEWPP

3. A new window will pop-up asking you if you want to schedule the background job with normal or high priority. Choose 'Normal'

4. Repeat the above steps in all the clients of the system.

We strongly recommend you to follow the above steps in all the systems of your landscape to ensure that RDDIMPDP job is scheduled correctly.

In order to check that RDDIMPDP job is properly scheduled by user DDIC you can do the following:

SM37 --> Job name: RDD*

User name: *

--> Under 'Job Status' select the check boxes "Sched.",

"Released", "Ready" and "Active"

--> Under 'Job start condition', leave the "From" and "To" fields

empty.

--> click the 'Execute' (F8) icon

A list of jobs will show up. There will be one RDDIMPDP job for client 000 and one RDDIMPDP_CLIENT_/SYS/profile/DEFAULT.PFL

After this please make sure to restart the system so the new parameter is taken into account by the system.

In addition, the Remark 2 of note #[642464|https://bosap-support.wdf.sap.corp/sap/support/notes/642464] says: "The last line of a profile must be a blank line".

Lastly please check the following note:

#[71353|https://bosap-support.wdf.sap.corp/sap/support/notes/71353]: Transports hang during background steps;

After all of this, the problem will be solved

Hello,

Yesterday after rebooting my system PRD, I tried to import my request and was not possible. Today when I tried, the import has executed normally.

Its good, but I think we should reach some conclusion sir.

Please monitor two points related to this problem also in future : --

1. Check if any background job is running related to required transport .

2. Check SM12 T-code lock entries .

Hello,

Then... I rebooted my server and the error continues. I deleted my old entries request.. I checked the settings in the profile request and nothing..

The background job RDDIMPDP is running in all clients.

In the operation system have not a file with .LOC or .LOB extension.

Anything else I could check?

Dear Ismail,

First you check in Quality system -->

go to STMS_IMPORT --> Select your TR --> LOG --> check is it successfully imported on not .

Check tp import log also.

Now login PRD system -->

Stms_import -> TR --> LOG -->select on error log. and paste it for further information.

Hello Ismael,

Please provide or check tp syslog (STMS Goto -> tp System Log or TMS alert).

Go to import queue Try Queue --> open

could be that these is some transport request holding the import queue, check the import queue and get rid of any failed transport from the import queue.

if it did not fix you issue, just move this file from os level i.e /usr/sap/trans/SID/tmp/*.LOB

I would need many more details on this issue (like the log of the request itself and the SLOG file at least), but I bet this might be due to the reasons described in note #12746. That is, there should be a semaphore file in /usr/sap/trans/tmp directory that's holding the import of this (and perhaps others) request.

If this is the case (in SLOG you'll find some lines with a message like "Warning, my name is PID, I'm waiting 12 seconds..."), you need to kill any tp and R3trans processes on the OS level, then move the .LOC or .LOB file from the /tmp directory to another location and then repeat the import.

Keeping tp and R3trans tools on the latest version is also desired.
