ACC - enable virtualization landscape management

Note 1411300 says about enable virtualization landscape management. Did anyone came across this or done ? if so what is the process behind this ?

Thanks for the reply. So this is about the SAP LANDSCAPE MANAGEMENT which is still in ramp-up... The way the note was showing it as prerequsities i thought this is something else which is already available...

ACC is already available (7.2), it's part of Netweaver.

Thanks for the reply. May be i am missing something here... Yes we installed ACC 7.3 already. But the link http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/virtualization says something like the following:

A new management tool, SAP NetWeaver Landscape Virtualization Management helps customers:

reduce the total cost of operations of their SAP system landscape and

enhance their flexibility and business agility

by simplifying and optimizing provisioning, deployment, and management of SAP Systems through the use of virtualization and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) cloud technology.

SAP NetWeaver LVM is flexible and open. It provides open interfaces for easy integration, support for a broad range of IT infrastructure solutions, and is fully scalable for any landscape size.

Development of the new software is ongoing. A beta shipment to a few selected customers was finished on June 8, 2011. Restricted shipment (ramp-up) is planned to start in mid-November 2011.

Am i looking into the correct area ?

What is your goal? What do you want to do? You want to use AIX LPARs to do a landscape virtualization?

Hi Markus,

Thanks again for the reply. Yes we are looking for an option using ACC for landscape virtualization to the extent of having a scope of covering server hardware, network, storage, real time utilization data.

Also under the ACC there is a tab Virtualization Landscape.. is that what you are talking about earlier ? is so how to get using that ?

HI Markus,

I think i need to configure the virtualization landscape with the help of IBM HMC or IBM System Director. I am looking for the exact installation/configuration guide for the same.

Also where is SAP ACC Documentation available ? (is it help.sap.com or some sort of DVD ?)

If you are in the RampUp you should ask your Rampup Coach about that.
