SAP Netweaver 7 installation on VMWARE

Hi,

I am trying to install SAP NW7 on VMware

local PC having windows7 , so downloaded VMWARE and installed and creatd a new vm machine and installed windows 2003.

connected external HD and create virtual machine in external HD.

steps:

installed VMWARE n local m/c

created VM on exter HD

installed windows 2003 on VM.

320 gb configured and partition done..

now the issue is

I wanna install SAP NW7 on it , first of all i wanna copy the dump to virtual machine

how can I copy thre dump to virtual machine and start installation?

Hi,

1.) You can create a shared folder in the VM and copy the neccessary file into the machine (via Network).

2.) You can create shared folders on the Host machine via the Administration of the VMWARE Panel (and assign them to Network Drives in the Server Environment. ) So the "Server" has access to the files on the Hostmachine.(quick and easy)

Prefer the shared folder mechanism for bigger files like dumps etc. Once copied, start the SAPInst to proceed with installation.
