Equipment BOM

Dear all expertise,

I want to create the equipment bom but not as a material. Therefore, what is alternate way to maintain the equipment bom/assemblies in the SAP system?

I guess, you can create the equipments as PRT with equipment category P, so that you can perform performance based & time based maintenance.

And you configure Equipment & Asset synchorinisation, so that while creating equipment, asset will be created automatically. To track the stocks, you can use serial number management.

If you want to assign these tools to some equipment, you can use Technical object hierarchy.

Hi

you can create the Material BOMs ,assign to Construction type in the equipment master for similar equipments.

you can use this for material planning in the orders etc

Hi,

Equipment BOM is specific to that equipment only. Material BOM can be used for any equipment. To my knowledge you can maintain material assembly/BOM in equipment BOM IB02.

I already know the t-code IB01 to create equipment BOM but i want another alternate way to maintain the BOM.

Alternate way apart from IB01 means, what exactly you looking for?
