Dear Guru's,
After the SAP ECC 6.0 Ehp5 installation, in the transport queue we have one request named as SYNCMARK and we're unable to set the client for this request because of this request we're unable to do the transports. Also we tried to delete the request and its also no possible.
Error message:
Transport control program tp ended with error code
Errors: wrong syntax in tp call
Could anyone suggest me.
regards,
Guna
Dear Guna,
This kind of problem generally comes when DIR_TRANS and TRANSDIR do not match which otherwise should be set as same directory. Can you please check your TP_DOMAIN_<SID>.PFL if this is the case.

Nitin

Dear Guna,
I know its an old post but just wanted to update the thread. I had the same issue. The solution described in the below link solved the issue.
SYNCMARK blockiert Importqueue: wrong syntax in tp call
(Open the file SID in folder buffer under /usr/sap/trans and look for the keyword SYNCMARK. Add a hash # symbol at the beginning of that row and save the file. Now, refresh the queue and the SYNCMARK should disappear).
Regards,
Mohan.
Hi Krishna,
I am also facing the same issue. So i have commented the SYNCMARK entry in buffer directory(os level), after that if i refresh the import queue , the syncmark is not displaying in queue. but i if import any TR, then SYNCMARK entry is adding automatically.
please suggest.
Regards,
Lakshmanan V
The SYNCMARK is a special TP command automatically entered to prepare
the transport buffer during SAP Upgrades and the application of patches
via transaction SPAM. This buffer entry is only needed when tp is
allowed to import several transport requests or Support Packages in
parallel. SYNCMARKs are used to separate transport requests or Support
Packages in the buffer containing the same objects.
You COULD delete it either of 2 ways:
" tp delsyncmark ALL <sid>"
and if that did not work and you were sure you could perform a "tp cleanbuffer <sid>".
But as EHP5 is new enough if I were you I would probably contact SAP support to be sure this is ok first.
