Could anyone let me know when value mapping replication of mass data is done , the updated values in the java runtime cache that we can view in RWB->Cache Monitoring->Mapping Runtime Cache - are they deleted on system restart or are persisted somewhere. Is it only cached in Java memory and after restart we need to re invoke the scenario again to update the same.

Subhro

Hi Subhro,

No, you do not need to upload the Value mapping table everytime server is restarted.

However, in case you are using value mapping mass replication to upload the values, make sure you use a different context than the standard one (http://sap.com/xi/XI).

For more, please refer to this note: 1476480.

Thank you Sanjeeb for your response. Is there any limit to the amount of data that can be maintained in value mapping tables and have you seen any performance implications for huge data.

Hi,

You can refer the following post which talks about the same issue.

Also, go through this link for value mapping replication

Hi Subhro,

From performance perspective we have tested upto 2 Million entries in the table and we were ok on the performance front. We had tested on the production equavalent system. You would need to check the performance of your server.

What is the volume you are looking for?

Sanjeev.
