Hi All,
I am doing a mapping wherein the target is external definition.
Now the external defeinition is changes with addition of a few fields.
How can I retain the mapping done earlier without needing to map from scratch?
Thanks in advance

Hello,
Adding to the posts above, if you are on PI 7.1 and above, you can use the Correct Structural Inconsistencies feature.

Hope this helps,

Hi,
I am afraid that if you require to add a few fields in external definition and import it again, you will have to do mapping once again for whole thing. Once you re-import external definition, then refresh your mapping and see what happens.

As raja said if your root element is same then you dont need to do the whole mapping again. only map the additional field

if additional fields added in (source/target XSD) subelements then you wont lose entire mapping .
if root element changed in source structur ethen you have to do mapping from scratch.
