Anyone have any best practices for using NWDI for content management within MII? I have reviewed the guidelines from the wiki, and am able to do it without issue. More wanting to know if there are any recommendations for setting things up. Our basis people have some generic stuff but don't feel it applies since we don't manage content through NWDS like other Netweaver apps.
Hi Robert,
I don't have any recommendations for setting up, but there are a few comments on the utilization by developers.
Check out and check ins should be done frequently, preferably at least daily. (not always easy to accomplish with developers!)
Common items like localization files and css should be checked out separate from application objects. Encourage modifications to be done quickly and then check the object back in for others to use.
Also with common objects, especially localization and css, decide on the naming conventions up front and for localization, what words or phrases will be set as common (as much as possible) and what will be application specific.
Recommend that prefixes be used to identify the application specific localization words/phrases and possibly also for css, etc.
Hope this helps,
Mike
