Stock Block against Quotation

Dear All,

I have a weird requirement,Could anyone suggest the best practice for the following

When client create Quotation or Order Acknowledgement sales order, system needs to block all the raw material relevant for each Finished goods. And also system should display the lead time of the raw material in case stock not available. When the same Quotation is converted to Sales Order the blocked stock should be converted to sales order stock.

Based on the validity of the Quotation or Validity entered manually system should automatically de-block the raw material in case quotation is not converted into Sales order

Please suggest if anything can be done for this scenario.

Hi,

In SD you can not block raw material stock which required for to produce finished product, however this can be possible in PP to block certain materials which are require for finished product check with PP consultant

And ultimately when MRP is run then the lead time is calculated and when it will be available can be known

Also think about MAKE TO ORDER option, in this scenario whatever be done (Purchase of raw,packaging material etc) can be against quotation/order altimately all are blocked against quotation/sales order

So this option may fullfill this requirement.

Thanks for your input.I cannot go with full MTO scenerio as the some of the raw material lead time is high and need to be imported.so procureent team will start procuring based on the Forecast..

but the requirement is when Qtn is created Relevant raw material neds to be blocked and ensure that same raw material is used when order is confirned and gone for production.

The scnerio is if we block thrugh movement type 344 and keep it against qtn,then when order is converted the time gap between the order to converted to production order (Goods isue timne) unblocked stock will be blocked again by another user.

How to go about it?
