Hi!
Is there a way/method to install SAP GUI 720 without creating the shortcut link on the desktop and the quick links under Start>Menu and "All Programs" in Windows 7? I'd prefer that these links were not created during installation.
Thanks.

Bran
Hi Zecher,
Thanks for the reply.
Would you able to share the detailed steps? That would be very helpful.

We do not use the SAP GUI FrontEnd Server for deployments. Only to create the package with scripts.
Once the package is created we also make machine adjustments with a 3rd party software which we wrap our custom SSO and saplogon.ini. That said, for your exact procedure I cannot say. The information for the scripting within the Installation server we got the information from the "Installation Server Help.chm".
(taken from Manual)
The documentation of the samples for package event scripting is contained in the Installation Server Help.chm file, which you can either find on the DVD, or in the installation directory, or using the SAPSetup Installation Server Administration Tool (NWSAPSetupAdmin.exe) by choosing the Help Menu u2013> SAP Installation Server Help. In this documentation, navigate through the tree structure as follows: Administering an Installation Server Maintaining Installation Packages Configuring Packages and Scripting Events Package Event Scripting Samples.

You could create a script to remove the items you do not want at the end of the install.
We do that here for the SAP Logon shortcut on users desktops as we do not want them to have access to the edit, create, delete. (saplogon.exe) This leaves just the SAP Logon Pad. We also remove the Query Designer and such items from the users Start menu since only a few associates need them and everyone does not see them unless they browse to the C: drive. (As with most users, if they do not see an icon, they do not know its there to run)
