How to record 8D report into a quality notification

Hi experts,

We want to record the result of a 8D report after we received it from vendor.

In a quality notification, we can setup an action box to print 8D report and sent it to our vendor.

Here I want to know how we can input the vendor's respont into the notification, such as containment actions, root causes, permanent corrective actions and so on.

I think that causes can be recorded in causes tab, but how about the other?

any idea is realy appreciated.

Hi,

If you want to record the vendor's response about the defect, location, cause, temporary measures, Long term measures etc and print the 8-D Report:

You need to define all these in the form of Catalogs. Then, it is possible for you to populate all this information in the form of Causes, defect locations, defects, tasks (temp. measures & Long term measures).

I think record by Catalogs is a good idea. I tried and soved my problem. thank you very much.

but this rise another question, that is the vendor's response is so long that I have to user long text, this might be a user friendly problem.
