Block Prices

Hi Everyone,

Could you please guide me for the following query:

We are required bill the customers based on Energy Charges where the block price which is being used is as follows:

for the first 200 units the price is Rs.3.00

and for the rest of the units the price is Rs.4.00.

The billing period is of 30 days.

The requirement is if the no. of days in the billing period is less than or greater than 30 days then the block price must not be prorated i.e. if the no. of days is 10 or 45 and if the consumption is 800 then in the first case the calculation should occure in the following way:

In case where the no. of days in the billling period is 10 days:

For the first 200 units = 200* 3 = Rs.600.00

For the rest of the units i.e. 600 units the calculation will be 600*4 =2400.

In case where the no. of days in the billing period is 45 days:

For the 400 units = 400* 3 = Rs.1200.00.

For the rest of the units i.e. 400 units the calculation will be 400*4 =1600.

Please guide how can this be done.

I have used a block price where the time basis is 30 and in Price Block Adjustment in the lower limit i have selected value as 30 and in the upper limit the value as 30.

Please guide.

Thanks and Regards

Hi,

In general, quantity based block prices are adjusted based on the parameter provided in 'Price Block Adjustment' and time basis.

As per your setting, lower limit of interval = time basis for price = upper limit of interval i.e. if and only if your billing period is 30 days this block adjustment will not take place. Otherwise it will prorate. But you do not want blocks to be adjusted.

So in order to resolve your query we need to know the following things:

1. Why do you want to use "Price Block Adjustment"?

2. What is the basis of block calculation?

My apologies if I have misunderstood your requirement.

Regards,

S
