No VCRole found in Visual Composer

Hi All

We've installed the following VC Components:

1. VISUAL COMPOSER BASE 7.01

2. VISUAL COMPOSER FLEX 7.01

3. VISUAL COMPOSER FRAMEWORK 7.01

4. VISUAL COMPOSER GP KITS 7.01

5. VISUAL COMPOSER XX KITS 7.01

After logging in to the Visual composer story board, it shows the error: pcd:portal_content/com.sap.gm.cnt/core/VCRole is not assigned

I've checked through User Management to assign particular role, but unable to find any role related to pcd*. On the forums, it is mentioned that VC Framework does deliver such roles, which I've already installed. Any suggestion of what I should do next?

Hi again,

Arun is completely correct. In 7.01 simply search for vc and you will find the VC role:

portal_content/com.sap.gm.cnt/core/VCRole

Thanks Anja and Arun for your considerations

I deployed VC components on our server PPLKHIHO16 and I can browse the VC storyboard through the link http://PPLKHIHO16:8000/VC in which it prompts role issue.

When I login through administrator account on http://PPLKHIHO16 :8000/useradmin, and search for all roles, it only displays 18 roles, without showing required one. Even I used wildcard but found nothing.

I checked SDM logs to check if components are correctly deployed and found no issue in it.

Please check the http port number for the .it should be like 5XX00 for http access

Check and verify if you have changes the default port : [http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/NWTech/ChangeDefaultportnumbers,Portalportnumbers|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/NWTech/ChangeDefault+portnumbers,Portalport+numbers]

Access the SAP portal with URL : [http://PPLKHIHO16:5xx00/useradmin|http://PPLKHIHO16:5xx00/useradmin]

what kind of datasource configuration do you use for UME? Is it ABAP ume?

Hi Nayab,

as we found out there is no portal installed in your case. Without a portal VC won't work.

Hi Nayab,

Once you deployed the Visual composer components in the SAP Portal, then VC Role should be availble.

you can search with wild card on VC Role like (* VC * ) in the user administration. then assign to the users.
