XI Adapter settings

I am configuring an XI Adapter for SRM Server. Its based on SAP BASIS 6.40. I am following this for it

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/85/78af1bf407434796aaf8dbd6d4e7b7/frameset.htm

It says to set up the HTTP destination in the SAP system by using transaction SM59.

So I have to do this in SRM ststem? An RFC Destination pointing to XI server?

What should I select for the Addressing Type ? URL Address or HTTP Destination?

And what should be the service number ?

You can use the portnumber speaking exactly this is the gateway service number.....which you can check in TCODE SMGW

Hi Naveen,

The receiver is SRM. So should I try this TCODE SMGW in SRM or XI ?

You can go to TCODE SMICM in SRM system then in menu bar > GOTO>PARAMETERS>DISPLAY>PORT number hope that might be 8000 you can give that

Naveen,

The port number is 8010. I guess I need to create RFC Destination of type H. Should I create it in SRM or XI server ?

The receiver proxy is SRM system

Hi Radhika,

You have to create RFC Destination of Type H in XI/PI system.you have to Specify the Target Host - IP address/Host name of the Receiver and Service No as HTTP Port Number on Receiver and also Path Prefix.

In receiver Communication Channel you have to select Addressing Type as HTTP Destination and give the above Created name .

Hi Deepthi,

I checked the XI system and I see RFC Destination of type 3 created to SRM system and also there is an RFC Destination of type H, INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI. Is that enough? Do I have to create another RFC Destination of type H?

I think in Receiver Com channel, I have to select Addressing Type as URL type ?

Hi,

yes you need to create an RFC desitnation of Type H pointing to SRM...

path prefix should be /sap/xi/engine?type=entry with the port no...(go to smicm of srm and goto services there you can find the http port...configure the same in your RFC destination in PI...)

Hi,

>> also there is an RFC Destination of type H, INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI..

Is that RFC destination pointing to your SRM system??? If so, then you dont need to create. If not you need to create an RFC destination of type H pointing to your SRM system. And you've to select the addressing type as HTTPDestination (not URL addressing) and provide the name of destination of type H.

Thanks

Rajesh,

So I should create an RFC Destination of Type H pointing to the SRM server, what name should be given? I have already created an RFC Destination of type 3 to the same SRM server, can I use the same name?

Also, I have to use XIAPPLUSER to create the RFC Destination right?

Hi Priyanka,

I didn't create the RFC Destination of type H, INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI.. How do I check if it's pointing to SRM server or not ?

Hi Radhika,

You can verify whether your destination is pointing to SRM or not by checking the TargetHost field in the RFC destination. If it is same as the host name of your SRM system, then you can use the same RFCDestination.

Thanks
