Show fractions and Decimal Places

Hi,

I have couple of fields with Type Real.

I need to store the values as is in to the MDM database.

Say for Ex: 53.659222 should be seen in MDM as 53.659222

-1.78227 Should be seen as -1.78227

When i use Show Fractions and Decimal Places the values are changing to a near value.

Does any one have an example which shows the difference in behaviours of Show fractions and Decimal places based on incoming values??

Please Help..

Hi John,

MDM allows only 6 digits after decimal in Real type and a total of 14 significant digits.

As this link says http://help.sap.com/saphelp_mdm550/helpdata/en/48/A41B410395062FE10000000A42189D/content.htm

MDM stores as decimal and shows as fractions so at data level both are same for MDM.

You can use text type field and impose a validation to ensure a consistency.

Thanks,

Hi,

Only a suggestion, might be not true in your case.

If you are not using this Real value in any of the assignments or validations in SAP MDM, then keep this field as text.

In the target system you can use this value as Real.

Thanks,

Shambhu.
