I'd like to post bug i've found after installation of patch level 7.
OS: Windows XP SP3 (with last updates) - Using Cleartype in Display Properties > Appearance > Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts
SAP GUI: 7200.3.7.1066 build 1259430 Patch Level 7
After installation of Patch Level 7 texts in standard List Viewer (e.g. transaction SE10 list of transports), all text look really ugly. Before this patch up to level 6 they looked just fine. Now as something has been changed in this update, it looks like no Cleartype is used for these texts. So they are not easy readable.
So I'd like to ask if there's any setting that can correct this? Or I'll have to wait for some future updates, as I can't go level back?
Hi,
Try to use the latest patch gui720_07_1-10007878.exe - SAP GUI for Windows 7.20 PL 07 Hotfix 1 (note 1489891).
Or check your settings in SAP GUI Options -> Visual Design -> Font Settings.
Best Regards,
Aleh

Hi,
thank you for answer.
But to clarify this. I used SAP GUI 7.20 from first version till patch Level 6.2
gui720_06_2-10007878.exe
without any problems. Texts were using ClearType = they looked nice. Then without any change of my font settings, just after installation of patch level 7
gui720_7-10007878.exe
, problem appeared. I tried this on more machines with same result. And I was not able to change this behavior with any change of fonts in configuration.
Basically:
before patch level 7 - nice fonts
after patch level 7 - ugly, very hard to read fonts in List View (any transaction like SE10, testing of class method)
So for me it looks like some change in Patch level 7 made texts look ugly - without ClearType. So it's harder for me to read texts.
And as I'm not able to go back to patch 6.2, maybe (if I'll have some time) I'll have to reinstall SAP GUI without installation of Patch Level 7.
But nice thing I noticed on patch level 7 was, that I was finally able to use command "Outlining>Collapse All" in code editor without crash of SAP GUI ;).

I have this problem too with PL7. Did the hotfix 1 fix this font issue?
