Physical sample drawing is uses sampling procedures, sampling scehmes and sample-drawing procedures to calculate the number of samples required for an inspection lot. The sample-drawing procedure, in addition to using the sample quantities calculated for the characterisitcs by the sampling procedures and sampling schemes, takes into account required reserve samples, pooled samples etc.. All of this then results in knowing how many samples are required and how many sample labels are required.

The printing of of the sample labels should be obvious.. they are used to label the various sample bottles.

Printing the sample-drawing procedure is used more as a tracking document or chain of custody document if you want. In some businesses, specific people are tasked with drawing samples from batches or production lines as this has to be done in a very specfic way, sometimes using special tools, techniques or procedures. The person drawing or pulling samples usually signs the sample-drawing document for each sample pulled/drawn. The sampels are dropped off to a laboratory or sample management room where they are again signed for and the samples stored properly according to procedure. The custody or sample-drawing document can then be filed and/or scanned.
