Looks like SDM was down when u were deploying. You can re-try it.
You should be able to see if SDM is running or not from NWDS, if not then contact your basis team.

Deepika
Hi Deepika,
If it a local DC you can copy the relevant folders from your work space to the other NWDS. It will be much better if you can copy the entire workspace to the new NWDS. In that way there won't be any problem.
Once your local DC is setup in your new NWDS it can be moved to JDI. Since your Local DC and your JDI will in different SC's it will be a copy of files. Follow this tutorial.
[Migrating Local Web Dynpro Projects|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/9e/1c200ac164cf4a942f2dacdf3359e9/frameset.htm]
I hope this is help full for you,
Regards
Vijay
Hi Deepika
Please check the article [Linking RFC to Web Dynpro|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/761eba66-0401-0010-b982-d5f5bd9e8f90?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true] if you have not imported the RFC model in webdynpro.
Check the error log in NWDS
