When we tried to apply the latest support pack for SAP_BASIS, Support pack SAPKB71012 ended with error and we are not able to proceed ahead since some basis t-code's are not working.

I can see the below given error in Log file. Please help.

Hi,

Please post error logs and dump information.

Also, see if the following note is helpful.

Note [954792 |https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap/support/notes/]- Known problems with Support Packages in SAP NW 7.1 AS ABAP

Hi Venkatesh,

Thanks for the Note, i saw this note. in this note they said to apply snote 1494899 for SAPKB71011 but i am unable to open the SNOTE window as it throws dump.

Please find below with the dump, its not allowing me to open any basis T-codes.

Runtime Errors SYNTAX_ERROR

Date and Time 20.07.2011 10:50:19

Short text

Syntax error in program "SCWN_ENTRY_TREE ".

What happened?

Error in the ABAP application program.

The current ABAP program "????????????????????????????????????????" had to be

interrupted because it contains

a statement that cannot be executed.

In the include "CWBNTINC " in the line 399 of program "SCWN_ENTRY_TREE " the

following syntax

errors occur:

"Type "CL_WB_MULTIPHASE_ACTIVATION" is unknown"

" "

" "

" "

Author and last person to change the include are:

Author "SAP "

Last changer "SAP "

IF i try to execute any T-CODES it gives me Dump related to that programme.

Please Suggest how i solve this problem now.

Thanks and Regards

Hi Rajesh,

SCWN_ENTRY_TREE itself is the program for SNOTE.

What is your SPAM/SAINT Version? Have you updated it to the latest available before SP application?

Also, suggest you to raise the issue to SAP.

Hi Venkatesh,

Yes i know, whatever T-code we execute we receive that programme Dump. yes we have upgraded the latest version of Support pack manager before applying the basis patches.

Now my problem is how can i apply that specific pacth which is given in snote 1494899 when i am not able to get inside the SNote window. Please suggest.

Even i am thinking of putting a ticket to SAP.

Thanks and Regards

Hi Rajesh,

Can you please try manual correction for your release?

This is a code change and can be done using SE38.

I know you mentioned that you are getting the dump for all TCODEs. But, just give a try.

Hi Rajesh,

Refer to the section Corrections Instructions in the note Note 1494899 - CHANGE_SUPPLIED_PARAMS_ONLY indicator.

Click on the link specific to your release.

You might need an ABAPer to do this. If you are good enough in ABAP code, you can make it yourself.

Venky.

Hi Venky,

The problem didn't solved, i had restored the backup which was taken immediate after the installtion and kernel upgrade.

Hi Venkatesh,

i was able to apply all the patches for different software component after the restore as said above. This time i applied SAP_BASIS 11 and 12 patch together and didn't have problem.

i also complete applying JAVA patches through JSPM.

Thanks for your support.
