Solman STPI/ STAPI

I need to know a few things about solman...

1. Why do we update STPI & STPI packages ? Are the smsy / dswp and other functionality provided as part of stpi / stapi packages ?

2. What is the best way to apply stpi support packages ? Are the changes cumulative ?

3. How do I find out which SP level / SPS level is my Solman system running on.. as there are many components here ?

Since the other questions have been answered, you are on ST 400 SP25 (Release 4.0/7.0 SP Level 25)

ST 400 0025 SAPKITL435 SAP Solution Manager Tool

The current Release is ST 400 0027

ST 710 will be released in September

ST-PI 2008_1_700 0003 SAPKITLRD3 SAP Solution Tools Plug-In

Is on an outdate release 701_2008_2 Sp Level 003

The current Release is 701_2010_1

ST-A/PI 01M_CRM570 0001 is also an outdate release

ST-A/PI 01N_CRM570 0000 is the current release

However the release/SP level of your Solution Manager is ST 400 0025

Hello,

1. ST-PI and ST-A/PI are related to data collection. They are installed in every system and are used to provide data to services like Earlywatch report and others. SMSY and DSWP are not part of these components. There components are not specific for solution manager, but to all managed systems(including solution manager if you're monitoring it).

2. Check the following notes for more information:

539977 for ST-PI.

69455 for ST-A/PI.

3. The correct component to check is the "ST".... in your case you're on support package 25, as you're on

ST 400 0025 SAPKITL435 SAP Solution Manager Tool.

Hi,

you can download ST-PI and ST-A/PI Updates from SMP http://service.sap.com/supporttools, but I would recommend to use transaction code ST13 and then choose RTCCTOOL which guides you through the update process (requires ST-A/PI to be installed on the system, so first install it using transaction SAINT). The packages are not cumulative.

If you have installed it once you will see that it is very easy to keep up to date
