Hi,

I think the problem is that you haven't followed all the steps described in the note:

#864515 - How To Delete a Development Component

When you create a DC, it gets registered in SLD for name reservation reasons to avoid naming conflicts.

Now if you don't get rid of this reference from the SLD, then the same DC name cannot be created again.

See the note for details.

Good test is indeed if you try to create a new DC which was definetely not existed before. Try to create a DC for test reasons with a very unique name. This test tells us if you have a general problem at DC creation, or it is really only about the reasons I mentioned above.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Ervin

It was solved by clearing all names reserved and also after recreating a new track because we had some issues in our track .So now issue has been resolved.

Thanks all for your help and response.

Hi Anupama,

Please consider Ervin's inputs, they are always fruitful.

######################################################################################

Note:

If you have already deleted your DC properly with all the references.

Then i would recomend you to check one more reference in the Name Reservations in SLD as below...

1) http://<host>:<port>/sld

2) Name Reservations >> Names >> choose "Development Component Name" in Name Category.

Check whether your DC name is present in the table or not?

If Yes, then you need to delete that entry.

#######################################################################################

When you are working in NWDI empowered landscape, you have a very nice options in SLD that allows you to control the Development Component (DC) names that you will be creating in your Developer studio.

This concept is called as Name Reservations.

So, if you have defined a Name Prefix in the SLD, then in your Track inside developer studio you can only create DCs that start with the Name Prefix that you have defined in Name Reservations.

To Create the Name Reservations, pelase go through the bellow mentioned procedure...

Please open the below mentioned URL.

http://<host>:<port>/sld

Check if the Naming Service enabled or not?

Assuming it is enabled then...

Goto,

1) Name Reservations >> Name Prefixes >> choose "Development Component" Name in name category.

2) Here, you will be able to see all the allowed names for DC creation.

3) You can also create a new name prefix that you desire (e.g. abc.com/test)

4) Once, you have added the desired Prefix in the Name reservations.

5) Open the CMS Web UI from following URL...

http://<host>:<port>/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tcSLCMS~WebUI/Cms

6) Goto,

Landscape Configurator >> Select Any Track inside "Tracks" Table >> Domain Data >> Click "Change" Button >> Click "Update CMS button"

7) In NWDS remove your previously loaded development configurations >> Import the same development Configurations once again and now try creating a new DC. It will reflect the same vendor name that you have defined in the SLD Name Reservations.

Let us know about the results.

Hi Anupama

Try to create DC with Different name. if you stll face the issue then you need to check the track data's in CMS landscape configurator. Check the associated dependancy is there is SLD or not. [Click Here |http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/e0df79de-9479-2e10-c9a2-bd3119b7aa78] and

Hi Anupama,

Please confirm whether you are following the below mentioned procedure to delete the DCs from DTR web UI?

1) Go to DTR web UI navigate to your DC path (For actual DC Deletion)

2) On the right hand side click on the Delete Resource button to delete the DC

3) On the Next screen you'll be asked to provide the activity name to check-out the resource for deletion.

4) Now, navigate to the SCs path (For Deleting the Reference of the same DC from the SC in which it is contained.)

5) Delete the file <DC_Name>.dcref in the same way by clicking on delete resource.

6) Associate this resource with the same activity you created before by selecting the radio button on the same screen.

7) Then, on the next screen, choose the All checkbox and click on the Check-In button.

After performing the above mentioned operation.

You also have to make sure that from CBS Web UI you also activate those activity specific to your Track from Pending Activity View.

Once you are sone with the above steps then...

Remove your track from NWDS and reimport it.

Let me know about the results.
