Delivery type of delivery split

Sorry if this questions has been posted before, but I was unable to find it.

I think my question is easy. I need to know what will be the resulting delivery type when spplitting a delivery..

Any ideas?

Are there any customizing settings to take care of?

You can find the information from copy control settings. Check t.code VTLA. Here the copy control settings are made for different sales document types and for purchase order (Delivery without order) to delivery type.

I have a delivery that is being processed by a Z program. I this program standard function module for delivery split is called. I was wondering what delivery type will the split delivery have. Is it based on the sales order from the processed delivery or any other condition?

Check in t.code OVDSP for the assignment of the delivery type for split profiles. You can also debug the function module to see from where or which table the system picks the delivery type.
