datafile deletion

HI all,

In my test server i have done table space extended for 26GB in one file.

By mistake 3 more datafiles has been extended with same 26GB.

But SAP recomendation is to extend only 2GB per file.

Now i want to delete that unwanted datafiles.

Now what should i do?

Tablespace = PSAPUNDO.

Hi,

If datafiles are not in used then you can drop data files using brtools. Also, brtools provide resize datafile option as well.

If i didnt drop or re-size the datafile then is there any issue will arise as it is PSAPUNDO.?

one datafile size of 26GB with 3 datafiles.

Tablespace=PSAPUNDO

Hi,

As such I don't see any issue. But generally PSAPUNDO does not need so much space. So, until you don't have space crunch, it is fine.
