how to create variant........

HI All,

Can anybody help me regarding how to create variant ..... Is there any T-code where we can create a variant against a particular program name......pls. post ur expert comments....

Ho Boseavi,

It is simple. For example for va05n enter some fields and press save .That will open another screen. Keep a variant name and description as you like .Leave that screen and come back to the same screen there you can see an icon next to execute (watch) icon. Just all values will be places in selection. Like this there are transaction and screen variants are there.

Hi,

As suggested, Go to the transaction code that you would like to create a variant. For example VA05N; Here enter the values for all required fields. Once the values are entered, click on "goto" in the menu bar and select "Variants - Save as Variants".

This will open a new screen displaying all the fields in the selection criteria. Here you need to give a name for the variant (there are a few check boxes against fields here. Each check box has a particular functionality, for Ex. Selecting "Protect Field" will grey out the field while running the variant and will not allow to change the values that you have given at the time of creation of variant). Save it.

This will create the variant for that particular transaction code. Next time when you execute VA05N, select your variant either by clicking on the variant symbol pushbutton beside execute button, or click on Goto, Variants, Get variants and select your variant.

Hi,

If you are using a program and need to create a variant then go to SE38, input the program name and execute. Here in this screen input the data which can be your sales area/ customer/ dates etc.. and then in the menu

GO TO -> Variants -> Save as variant.

If you are using a job and trying to create a variant then go to SM37, input the job name and execute. Select the job for which you need to maintain the varaint and click on the STEP button. In this screen SELECT the program for which you need to create the variant and in the menu

GO TO -> Maintain Variants

Here give the variant name and click on CREATE button and maintain the data that you want.
