Hi All,
We have started using DS8700 to help us with our backups by doing a snapshot and then powering up the snapshot and and backing it up.
The process involves doing a quiesce, snapshot, start the snapshot, back it up and delete the snapshot.
The interesting behaviour we are finding is that when you start the snapshot i noticed there are a couple of QDBSRV jobs running doing what looks like index re-builds.
Subsystem/Job User Type CPU % Function Status
QDBSRV04 QSYS SYS 3.2 IDX-CKMI1 RUN
QDBSRV05 QSYS SYS 2.4 IDX-BSIM RUN
The quiesce is successful, why does it do an index re-build?
Is anyone else using this process?
Are we doing something wrong or is it nothing to worry about?
My concern is that I need to wait for the jobs to complete before doing the backup.
G'day Alex,
nice to hear from you )
I would think, that this is really interesting !
If this happens with larger tables as well, I would strongly recommend to open an OSS or PMR ticket in order to get this analyzed. This is in my eyes not really correct, if this was reproducible and doesn't happen during the day anyway several times ...
