warranty or maintenance service pricing in SD

Hi experts,

Our company sell products and the related warranty to client. the price of warranty is a certain percentage of the product. how can i use SAP SD pricing procedure to handle it. for example, we sell a machine to a client. if the client buy a 1 year warranty, we charge the client 5% of the machine price as the warranty fee. so the warranty price bases on the main product.

We want to show the warranty and maintenance as a separate item and calculate the price in its own item, not in the main item as a surcharge condition type. for example, SAP company sells their software and the maintenance service. the maintenance service fee based on the software price, get 22% of the software. i am not sure how SAP to handle this business in their system. does sap cover it in CRM system or ECC? is it a separate item or not?

Hi,

Yes, SAP has this functionality for Warranty and Service claims processing.

It can be done using SAP Customer Service functionality wherein a service notification and service order is created and the costs are billed separately line item or products wise.

Hi Amit,

i do not think my business is the same scenario with your service processing, do not you? when i create sales order, i need to include the warranty material as an item. the problem is how to use the main item net value as the calculation base of the warranty item.
