The SNP Production (planned) orders are not accounting for the GR processing time.
We have a list of products at a manufacturing location, all having GR time of 35 days mentioned in their product-location master data in APO. It is IN HOUSE PRODUCTION at this location.
We have 1 PPM at this manufacturing location having 2 operations, in parallel, which have their own respective resources. So we have maintained 2 resources in APO resource master (itu2019s not CIFFed from R3). These are SINGLE-MIXED resources having TIME-CONTINUOUS-CAPACITY with bucket definition CONTINUOUS CAPACITY.
These two resources (used in parallel operations in PPM) run in parallel & work for 9hrs & 24 hrs respectively, but in parallel.
So far so good. .In case of these 2 OPERATIONS maintained in this PPM, the Production Orders get generated 35+1 = 36 days before the FCST/Demand Requirement in SNP Planning Book. (35 days is the GR time + 1 day is for the resource running time)
Recently a 3rd resource had been added to this PPM. This 3rd resource starts in series once the 1st & 2nd resource completes their parallel run. All these 3 Resources have been assigned to a common factory calendar & time zone. This 3rd resource is also TIME-CONTINUOUS-CAPACITY with bucket definition CONTINUOUS CAPACITY having running time of 24 hours.
So now itu2019s obvious that the Production Orders, in SNP Planning Book, should get generated 35+2 = 37 days before the FCST/Demand Requirement. However the orders get generated just 2 days before!! Itu2019s not accounting the 35 days of GR time.
The problem seems to lie with the addition of this 3rd resource, but we are unable to spot which configuration we missed out.
Why is the PPM dropping the 35 days of GR time?
