Dear Friends,
We want to run SAP GUI on thin client. How is it possible and wahta are the challenges in running SAP GUI on thin client ?

A "thin client" has by definition no software other than a stripped down OS installed; it connects to a "terminal server" or Citrix. So hence you can't install a SAPGUI on a think client. If you would, it's no more a thin client.

Agreed with Markus.
We have thin clients here which all connect to a Citrix farm. SAP GUI is installed on that farm and from that, managed on those servers.
One thing to remember, When dealing with issues between SAP GUI and Citrix, we have found that its more difficult on "thin clients" since the application is installed on the server(s), its not specific to the machine. Certain changes for one user can affect ALL users.

Unfortuantely that would have to be answered by our Server farm team. I am on the SAP side of the house here.
What I can tell you from experience is when a server has an issue, it is good to have an "extra" or at least one oversized. We have about 25-30 Citrix servers. If something happens to where users on 1 of those servers are having problems accessing SAP and it turns out to be something with the GUI or the GUI's link to Office (BEx Browser) we may need to take that server for a time. Such as in a case where something needs repaired as in a Office repair or the GUI needs re-installed... you need to be able to take that server out of the publsihed list of servers and allow users to gracefully migrate over to another since you cannot just take it. (Other users may be load balanced across it for other applications). Also, taking it for something as simple as a uninstall/re-install can have an affect if your other servers are not robust enough to to handle the increased load while this one is out of service.
