what I understood is check out record is the record which is incomplete and check In is the record which is compelete.. Is it so please confirm?
MDM will syndicate only compelted records...
So when record comes into MDM it will be incomplete and it will be in checked out status... MDM wait for one more feed .. so want to know the records which are in checked out mode can be updated by these additional fieds with out any issue right??
Once these fields are updated then MDM will make these records checked out .. whcih status the records are compeltd.. and ready for syndication..

Records are checked out as part of process. In your case it might be a MDM workflow or portal application based process.
Once record is checkedout then other users can join the checkout process and update the same record. Once all the changes are made by multiple parties involved in the process the record can be checked in.
Please note this is totally dependent on how we configure the checkout/checkin facility. You can read more on the checkout functionality in MDM data manager reference guide. There are 2 possible ways to checkout- exclusive and Non exclusive.
Exclusive means no one can join the checkout unless invited. Non exclusive- any other user can join the checkout and update the record.
