Custom Detailed Queries - Jump Target

Former Member

All,

We are using SPM whereby we have also developed an additional custom data source for Supplier Quality with its own infocube. We were able to register the query (datasource of infocube) and everything works well except the Time dimension filter as I have indicated in another post. The one other thing which we are trying to accomplish is to have "Detailed queries" (based on DSO) linked to the summary queries from the infocube. In order to do that, we are trying to specify a "Jump Target", but are not sure how we can do so. We are able to register our custom queries based on DSO in the SPM portal, but are unable to specify them as "Detailed queries" which could then be used for linking to the summary query.

Any thoughts on how this can be accomplished?

Thanks - Nikhil

Hi Nikhil,

I'll skip over the first part (see your earlier post)

Detail reports have been covered by a post from Rohit before, however

you need to have the ZXSA_CONTENT_CREATOR role (check in SU01). Theres a note somewhere to make this role.

- Register your "detail" Bex query as an ODS in Administration -> Analysis administration -> application properties -> data sources.

- you may have to log off and back in to see it

- Change the "data source" in your user preferences to that detail bex query

- Create a detail report and save it in SAP -> Reports -> detail reports (that is only visible with the content creator role)

- open Administration -> Analysis administration -> measure properties

- select the "measure" you wish use to point to the detail report

- click on the detail report tab

- select your detail report.

-click ok

-create a new ad hoc report to test

Some things that may also help

1) you cannot drill down to a detail report with any characteristic #/not assigned values. If you want to do this remove the offending # value in question.

2) you cannot drill down to a detail report when at anything above the lowest level of a hierarchy

3) always ensure you communicate to business users that its important to make the dataset for their detail report small or otherwise it will time out

4) for existing reports you may need to remove and re-add the dimension you've now assigned to have the detail report on and then re-save as for some reason i think some of the measure data gets stored in the report.

Hope this helps

kind regards,

Neil
