We have tried to stretch the envelope as part of the SPM implementation and implemented a couple of custom data sources (with custom infocubes) for eg: Supplier Quality. However, one problem we have not been able to solve is the following:
For any custom data sources, we are unable to use the "Time dimension" (typically on the top of the SPM portal UI) as a filter mechanism. This in-spite of the fact that the data records (for Supplier Performance - Quality) have 0CALDAY populated. Is there a reason this is happening? Any pointers?
Thanks - Nikhil
Hi Nikhil,
I propose you create a time dimension like in the Spend Analysis Final query.
To do this: administration -> data source administration click "new dimension" and add in 0calyear through to 0calday in the correct order. You can copy the time navigational dimension as is in the Spend Analysis Final query.
The next step is to specify this in the following place:
Administration -> Analysis administration -> application properties -> data sources -> click on the data source (query) in question then you can select the time dimension you've created and it should auto populate with the hierarchy you've created.
You must also ensure that you're mapping values correctly into these time characteristics from a BW perspective in the transformations. What dates are you using for your custom cubes etc?
Hope this helps
Neil
