Alert Configuration on PI 7.1

Former Member

Hello,

We followed Alert Configuration on PI 7.1 but an error in Integration Engine generates only two steps in SXMSALERT_LOGREADER:

1) Calling Monitoring Server Starting New Task

2) AlertRecords succesfully delivered

how can we know:

- where these AlertRecords were sent

- why Alert Rules and Categories (working on RSALERTTEST) are not following?

Thank you

Best Regards

Marco

Did you check this blog: /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/09/09/xi-alerts--troubleshooting-guide

From the blog:

- go to TCODE - SLG1

- choose object "ALERT"

- and from here you can check if your alert was generated or not
- if you have a look at "additional information" you can also check the recipients of the alert

Thank you for the suggestion: it seems that ALRTCATDEF customizing is working fine: report RSALERTTEST creates a log shown in SLG1.

Report SXMSALERT_LOGREADER shows a log when Integration Engine has an error but it doesn't create anything on SLG1.

Something is missing in between.

Hi Marco,

Delete the RFC CentralMonitoringServer-XIAlerts in PI(Tcode SM59) and then send an error message which triggers alert.

Dont worry even you delete the RFC, it will be generated again the next time an alert is created.

This should solve your problem.

Thanks and Regards,

@sridhar: Thank you, you're right:

- deleted the rfc;

- found it again at the first error

- finally found log trace of IE error on SLG1.

Thank you

Marco

Thank you both for the help:

@Fabio: I can find messages in Alert Inbox but only for those created by RSALERTTEST, not for those created by IE. For those I can see in SXMSALERT_LOGREADER a trace up to "Delivered only";

@Rajesh: RFC destination CentralMonitoringServer XI Alerts points to PI server itself and in SALRT1 there is value "NONE" this should be enough to state that no esternal Central Alert Server is involved?

Thank you

Hi,

Check the RFC destinaiton CentralAlert Monitoring server is pointing to the any other alert server....

if yes then check with the basis.....or person who set up the same and also check ccms configruations are set up...

Hi,

go to:

XIP>Runtime Workbench>Alert Inbox --> Recipients

to see whether and where alerts have been delivered
