Use of DB views

Dear All

we are using MDM 7.1 sp05 and scope is CMDM. We have single repository for Material and Vendor, in total 3.5 million records.

We plan to use Data services for doing deduplication in the creation/Maintain process.

For this we plan to use DB views on the main productive repositories and not the slave repositories.

Please share if this is right approach and what could be the limitations for using DB views directly on the live repositories?

Thanks in advance- Ravi

Hello Ravi

Sure you can use DB views

I think, SAP guys have proposed to use Slave repository for SAP MDM Server working load limitation.

whats the rational behind using the master ?

as of now, extraction of data is only possible from Slave servers

(due to potential locking issues during the extraction in parallel to an ongoing write operation

onto the database).

Since the Slave will be used for data extraction into Business

Objects DS, make sure that slaves need to be synchronized from time to time with their

master in order to have up-to-date data.

thanks

Thank you both.

We envisage issues with Master/slave repository setup.

DB views can be used on the master repository also.
