Hi,

I just want to understand how the DOS and Target day's supply are calculated all the buckets in the below situation.

SNP PLAN Initial W1 W2 W3 W4 W5 W6 W7 W8 W9 W10 W11

Total Demand 303 275 298 132 118 116 117 117 142 164 165 164

Total Receipts 136 320 243 320 264 160 176

Stock on Hand 1106 967 989 857 982 1186 1333 1216 1074 910 905 917

Target Days´ Supply 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 30

Target Stock Level 697 516 509 539 587 635 682 708 717 725 734

Days´ Supply 45 45 53 46 49 55 59 52 45 38 37 37

we are using standard macro for DOS and TDS and work day's here is 7days.Please let me know, how the value arrived each bucket.

Hi,

In your scenario, Target Daysu2019s supplyu2019 is appearing 30 and it is from lcoation product master.

I think you are aware that u2018Target Daysu2019s supplyu2019 value is taken from Location product master (Lot Size- Quantity & Date Determination).

SNP heuristic( and PPDS standard heuristics SAP_ PP_002) take into account the target days' supply if we select the target stock level method Target Days' Supply from Product Master (' '), Maximum from Maximum Stock Level/Target Days' Supply (5) or Total from Maximum Stock Level/Target Days' Supply (6).

Dayu2019s Supply:

The safety days' supply in SNP planning, specifies the number of workdays over which the system has to take into account future demands when planning safety stock.

Now, in your scenario, for calcualting the days supply, you need to consider u201CStock on Handu201D e.g. 1106 in your first period and check it to cover demand against future periods

W2 to W7 demand total is ( 275 + 298 + 132118116+117) >> 1056 and W8 demand is 117.

Therefor 1106 will serve roughly about 6.5 weeks >>45 days . Therefore your W1 shows days supply of 45 days.

I hope this gives you some insight. Please check and write for any additioanl clarification.

Hi Datta,

Thanks for your reply.yes.It is giving some insight. But However can you clarify the DOS is changing to 53days after 2 weeks. How?Is it calculating after 6.5 weeks or from 3rd week itself? Can you give the calculation logic with my case for some more weeks?

Target days supply in SNP is like a dynamic safety stock. Please correct me,if I am wrong? In my example,Target DOS is 30days.So it is 4.2 weeks. That means A receipt @ wk-1 is created for the demand of Wk-5.Eg(PR qty 100 @ wk-1 is the quantity of Demand @ wk-5) including Lotsize, roundingvalue consideration. Is my understanding correct?

Thanks&Regards

Hi Venkadesh,

Day u2018s supply

I am explaning below how the W3 shows 53 days of Dayu2019s supply when stock on hand is 989 Units at the end of Week3.

For W3 stock on hand is 989 units and it shows Dayu2019s supply of 53 days.

W4 to W10 Demand total = 132118116117117142164= 906 and days = 7*7 = 49

W4 to W11 Demand total =132118116117117142164+165= 1071 and days= 7*8= 56

Therefore for 53 days it becomes 989 units .

This way we have Dayu2019s supply of 53 days on week 3 bucket.

Target Days Supply:

What you have written is correct.

It is the number of days for which the storage stock and planned receipts of a product should be able to cover known demands.

I hope this clarifies your doubts.
