SAP HCM Implementation: Best Practice for configuring

Hi,

This is my first independent project of HCM implementation. I have just started the system configuration. Done with setting up the PA, PSA, EG and ESG. Assigned to CC. At this stage, I have a very basic question which is, what is the best practice for the next steps of configuration. What do I go to next, step up the OM in the SAP EasyAccess Menu? How should I go from here?

Would really appreciate some explanatory assistance.

Thanks in advance.

Please let us know which modules you are implementing ?

as you are doing first time I advice you to copy the standard entries existing and rename and do changes according to your requirement ... never change the standard entries/records

dont forget to do the config fo define employee atrributes PA->org data->org assignment->define employee attributes

as you told you done with enterprise structure , what about the remaining config for actions , infogroups ..

You refer to BBP and do the config for what all the business process mapped in SAP u2026.

as part of PA module

u2022 Enterprise structure PA/PSA and assignment, you ask FI consultant to create company code and assign PA to that ....

u2022 Personnel Structure, EG/ESG /Payroll Area

u2022 Actions, Info groups

etc...

once you done with PA then depcit the your client org structure in OM .. use simplemaintance for that..

if you let us know the scope of your implementation we can give you more details....

Thank you very much for your response.

I would implement PY and TM for now

To be more precise, if you could guide me step wise. I have just defined the PA, PSA, EG and ESG and have assigned them to the Company code.

Define actions and infogroups (keep the infotypes in sequence which user wanted to maintain during the actions)

complete entire config for PA module , make sure you mapped all the busines requiremnts in to sap...

once you complete PA then you can go for time/payroll...

giving step wise for entire module is difficult to keep here.... you go through the BBP and start mapping one by one.. if you got stuck up some where you get back to us we can help you..

Excellent!! Thank you very much.

Another clarification, what about the integrations? and at which stage is this done? I am more concerned about the org set up

( PA and OM) at this stage.

Thanks a lot for the PY and TM help, that was pretty detailed and should guide me well

Integration between OM and PA is very important..

The entry PLOGI ORGA activates integration between Organizational Management and Personnel Administration using the "Organizational Assignment" info type (0001).

Maintain these below for integration

Navigation :

Personnel management->OM->Integration->Integration with PA->setup integration with PA

PLOGI ORGA X Integration Switch: Organizational Assignment

PLOGI PRELI 99999999 Integration: default position

Also maintain plan version

Navigation:

Personnel management->Global setting in Pers mgmt->plan version maintenance-> set active plan version

PLOGI PLOGI 01 Integration Plan Version / Active Plan Version

Also use RHINTE 10,20 reports if there is any inconsistency with objects in OM or PA

Hope this helps

Thank you again. This will be one of the most useful chains of info for any new beginner.

Before I close this post, could you tell me one again, as clearly as you did so far did, the steps for PA set up and the OM set up.
