Make to stock production

Characteristics of a Make-to-Stock (MTS) process are commodity based end products, production prior to sales order based on forecast, end products sold from inventory, controlling of inventory is critical and distribution and warehousing of end product is the norm.

You can have inprocess inspection ie 03 type & FG inspection such that 04 type

In 03 type inspection follow the below process

1. Maintain QM master data

a. 03 inspection type in Matreial master (QMview)

b. Maintain master data in receipe header ( insp points & partial lot assignment)

c. Maintain operation data in master receipe

d. incorporate the characteristics in the master receipt -characteristics overview

2. Create Process order (PP module )

3. Release Process order (PP module )

4. Record results

5. Make Goods issue

6. Confirm process order and make Goods Receipt

7. Make usage decision

For FG inspection (04 type) follow the process

1. Maintain insp type 04 in MM(QMview)

2. Maintain an insp plan with suitable usage for production

3. Create a process order (PP)

4. Release the process order

5. Confirm Process order & make Goods movement

6.Record results

7.Usage Decision & stock posting

You will have to closly work with your PP consultant and give inputs to ensure that appropriate Process order types are created.

Apart from this incase you have product in inventory which is to be inspected daily or periodically at your plant then you can make new inspection types and create manual lots for inspection.
