User & Authorizations for XI and ECC RFC connection

Experts,

I am new to SAP XI security, my basis team needs a user in XI for remote connectivity between XI and ECC environment. I understand that XI is very sensitive and we need to have tight security for these users. Below are my quesries:

1) What is the most commonly used name for such users?

2) Usually RFC users are of type system. What should be the user type here?

3) What are the minial authorizations / profiles it will need access to?

4) I searched through SAP documentations and found "Service users for message exchange" (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/58/d22940cbf2195de10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm). Are these the same users? if not what are these?

Any help will be highly appriciated.

Hi,

You can use Default user XIAPPLUSER and password XIPASS are specified in SAP XI RFC destinations which will be created during SAP installation.

Also set SNC to active and trusted system to NO.
