Work Processes - RZ04

Oracle 10g - Unix - BW system

My BW production environment has no configuration for RZ04. (Dummy).

I'd like to configure it, but this would be the first time for me.

Does anybody have some material / clues about how to define the total number of work processes, and how to define the number of dialog and Background processes ?

I think I should follow this sequence :

1) Define how many work processes my system would be able to work with.

2) Define how many work processes I should create for each task (DIA, BKG,..) during the day and night.

3) Perform the configuration in RZ04.

I'd like to understand how to deal with the step 1, a very technical step, but under a simple and safe point of view.

Could you please help me with some clues or material ?

Regards,

Eduardo

Hi Eduardo,

In RZ04>Instances/operation modes double click the "Day" entry.

This will open a window with a button at the bottom "Other operation mode", click this.

The Operation Mode at the top will become modifiable - use the drop down to select "Night" (assuming it is entered correctly it will appear).

The select the number of work processes you want to change, e.g. Background and click on the "+" or "-".

Then save it.
